Have you ever use Google Translate ? , most of us had used it , every day google translate keep improving just by translating what people ask, even though it may be wrong sometimes. But how do it improve ? the answer is Machine Learning.
Machine Learning is a type of artificial intelligence that provides computer with the ability to learn without being explicitly programmed. Interesting huh ? Any computer program that have machine learning can teach themselves to grow and change when exposed to new data.
The process of machine learning is similar to that of data mining. Both system search through data to look for patterns.Machine learning algorithms are often categorized as being supervised or unsupervized. Supervised algorithms can apply what has been learned in the past to new data. Unsupervised algorithms can draw inferences from datasets.
Nowdays, we live in digital era , machine learning was very useful. As long as we use it properly without violating social norms , then it will be helpful for the human kind. For example :
- Facebook’s news feed
- Virtual Assisant like Cortana
- Youtube’s recommendation video
There are several interesting machine learning application to build. The one that i love is Music recommendation system. This system recommend us music based on user’s listening history and social network. The benefits from this application is many people in the world like to hear music , but most of them dont know what song thats suited to their taste, but with this application the user does’nt need to spend time finding the right song they like.
